Prayers. Sparrows. Peace.

prayer flags
petitions of peace
mere words on fragile paper
hang across the window

outside
amidst cold snow
the birds seek sustenance
found in gifted seed

to winter sky
we cast our hope
watch cared creatures feast
and ponder the worth of
we and sparrows
